Tips in Organising Wardrobes 2017

Every day, we get dressed. There are even times when we need to dress up more than once in a day for certain occasions. And that’s why it could get very messy when you don’t know how to organise your wardrobe. Professionals often recommend getting walk-in wardrobes for optimum space and convenience (see Clapham loft specialists).

Step 1: Know why you have to organise your wardrobe

There are some things that we often say or hear about wardrobes. I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to relate with at least one of these. These things will eventually fuel up your goal to keep your wardrobe organised. And you just want to specifically know which of the reasons will motivate you on fulfilling your goal.

Have you ever heard these lines from yourself?

“I don’t have something to wear.”

“Where did I put my…”

“My… It’s in the wash!”

These complaints can be commonly heard from different homes every day. And the usual problem with wardrobes is locating what you want whenever you have to use it, and if it’s even clean and ready for wearing.

The moment you identify your reason for organising your wardrobe, always think of that reason to keep you moving forward.

Step 2: Remove all your stuff from the wardrobe

Emptying your wardrobe helps you see how much space you really have for storing and check on the clothes you currently have.

Trust me, you will have a very hard time sorting through all your stuff if you take them out one at a time. This is a time for a fresh start, so just go and do it!

TIP – It will be easier to organise with a flat surface where you can put your clothes on like a bed or a table. It will cost you less work because you won’t need to bend down on the floor to get your clothes.

Step 3: Evaluate the space you’ll be working with

Fail this step and you will

If you have a lot of space, you can simply organise all your clothes back in one place or you can place them in different spots.

You can easily decide how to organise your wardrobe and what’s best for you once you have identified the space you’ll be working on.

Think of other spaces in your house, too. But be mindful to not just dump all your clothes in one room and create a whole new wardrobe problem. Just give some thought to the other spaces you have at home and only spot on the spaces that can store your clothes easily (e.g. seasonal clothing or clothes for special occasion, etc.)

So now, I believe you have pictured out the space you will be working on. You should now also have an ideal spot for your things like identifying areas for the accessible ones and less accessible. And lastly, you should have an idea of the spaces you have that you can make use of (e.g. shelves, drawers, etc.).

An organised wardrobe can lessen up the troubles you encounter on a daily basis. You can effortlessly choose the clothes you want and you won’t even have any problem finding them. It will be a tough start but once you get used to it, everything will run smoothly on your end.

5 tips to have a fabulous walk in closet

Walk in closets are no longer for big houses and celebrity personalities. Before, having your very own walk in closet is considered a symbol of grandeur but those days are over. In fact, it now becomes a necessity.

If you love clothes or own a lot of it, then it is time to create one in your home. If you are planning to transform your loft or attic into a functional room, then a walk in closet would be a perfect idea. Professional loft conversions like those from Chiswick Loft Conversion incorporate walk-in closets in their designs.

Good thing about building your own walk in closet is it does not require a big space, a small or average sized loft will turn out to be just fine.

There are tons of reasons why you should consider building your own walk in closet. Here are just a few:

– More space for your clothes

Built-in closets and cabinets do not have enough space for all your clothes especially when you hang all of it. When you lack space you end up crunching your clothes just to fit them all together and it will just wrinkle them. When you have a walk-in closet, you have more space to hang all of your clothes and can easily see everything.

– More space for shoes

If you own a lot of shoes, it is probably time to invest in a walk in closet. Not only you will have more space for your shoes but you can also make some arrangements to make them look good while glancing at them.

– Extra storage

Walk in closets are not just for clothes, shoes and accessories, you can also store some important items on it. If you no longer have space for a storage room, you can build one and make your life easier and more convenient.
Now if you are already convinced to build your very own fabulous walk in wardrobe, here are 5 tips and ideas to have the perfect one.

1. Posh lighting

One of the secret keys to having a stylish and elegant wardrobe is to have cool lightings. Having good lighting in your wardrobe can set your mood making you feel good to dress up.

It also makes your clothes, shoes and accessories stand out.

It can make it easier for women when applying their make-ups or when dressing up as well.

2. Big mirrors

Having a lot of mirrors in your walk in closet is a must. It can actually make the room more spacious and creates excitement when dressing up.

3. Add a seating area

If you want to make use of all the space you have in your walk in closet, you should add a seating area. An ottoman is a perfect furniture that you can have. There are different shapes of ottomans that you can choose from depending on the shape of your walk in closet. Storage ottomans are also a good choice if you want to hide away some things in your closet.

4. Stylish accessory displays

There are actually a lot of display ideas that you can get from shopping malls or boutiques, from mannequins to racks.

5. Choose the right paint colour

When it comes to paint colours, white is the ideal colour to make all the displays in your room stand out. It can also make your walk in closet look more organised, spacious and neat.

You just have to pick the right walk in closet design based on your own preference and taste. It doesn’t have to be costly as well as long as you choose the right materials and furniture.

Why a walk in wardrobe is essential in 2016

When building or buying a house, we sometimes forget about the walk in wardrobes and you realise that you could have added one before moving in. But it is never too late or impossible to have one if you have an extra space in your home like your loft.

Most people think that owning a walk in wardrobe is a terribly pricey ambition. They think that it is so expensive that only famous and wealthy people can afford it. Well, that may be true in the past. But the days when walk in wardrobes was exclusive only to those prosperous and opulent individuals are over.

Women tend to find it quite a hassle when they no longer have space for all of their clothes, jewellery, accessories, and shoes. This is a common problem. And it’s even more irritating especially when you can’t add an additional cabinet because you have limited space in your bedroom.

A great solution for this is to install a walk in wardrobe. It only takes a bit of your bedroom’s space but it adds a great deal of storage capacity. It’s perfect for all of your extra clothing, shoes and accessories.

But most homeowners don’t find enough reasons to invest in a walk-in wardrobe. So here are some reasons why it is essential:

• It gives you a lot of extra storage space

If you think you are already having wardrobe storage problems, then you should probably need to have a walk in wardrobe. It gives you a huge amount of extra space in which to place all your spare bags, shoes, and clothes.

• Walk in wardrobes takes only a little space

Space is not a big problem when it comes to building your own walk in wardrobe because it doesn’t take up so much room at all. And considering it increases your storage capacity significantly, it is a pretty nice bargain.

• You can organise your stuff extensively

A walk in wardrobe comes with a multitude of extra drawers and little compartments perfect for storing small stuff like jewellery. This is especially important when you lose a lot of little pieces of clothing. An organised wardrobe is every person’s dream.

• Lessens clothing wrinkles

With your greatly enlarged storage space, you can now fold your clothing neatly or hang them to avoid getting wrinkles on it. The last thing you want to experience is wearing a crumpled suit or dress in a party just because all your clothes are already jammed in your old cabinet.

• Improves your looks

Walk in closets often are often augmented with mirrors. This is a very useful addition especially for women, who typically spend hours perfecting their looks and outfits. But it’s not just women who will benefit from this. Most of your family will be happy with this feature.

You should think of having your own walk in wardrobe as it will surely solve all your wardrobe storage dilemmas. If you are interested in loft conversions, check out FulhamLofts for more information.

Stylish Ideas: Learn How To Dress

Fashion isn’t something that has specific rules you must adhere to. While others may dress one way, you do not have to follow them. Get as much advice as possible, and then analyze what works for you. The following article contains tips you can use to help you create your own fashionable style.

  1. Dress in a way that accurately reflects your age.

If you are a young professional woman, do not go to work dressed like someone in their teens. On the other hand, if you are a teenager, do not dress in a style that an older woman would feel comfortable in.

  1. If you have thick or very curly hair, using a gel product will help you to create the style you desire.

Work the product into towel-dried hair and then style it as you want. You can allow it to dry naturally, or use a hair drier. This is especially helpful in humid weather.

  1. Keep your eye on fashion articles as the season changes.

You can remain in the loop by subscribing to a few fun fashion magazines. They are most often the source for new trends.

  1. Clumps of makeup are not an attractive look for female.

In fact, recent polls taken by men find that the less makeups, the better. This does not mean that you have to avoid makeup altogether; try to use warm tones and put on just one layer of mascara and eyeliner.

  1. Do not wear your hair too dark if you have lighter skin and/or lighter eyes.

While darker hair looks nice on people that have darker eyes and skin tones, it will only make you look washed out. If you must darken your hair, put some streaks in it in order to brighten them up.

  1. Crocheted clothing is back in style once again.

The most popular pieces this season happen to be crocheted vests. These comfy vests come in a multitude of colours, patterns, and thicknesses to add a cozy and homemade look to any outfit. Try wearing them over your plain shirts or dresses.

  1. Always dress respectfully for the occasion.

Don’t wear a tube top if you’re going to a wedding, and don’t shorts to the prom. Learn to respect fashion traditions, even if you’re tempted to defy them for no good reason. Is it really going to hurt to to put on that tie Mom wants you to wear to church? Showing respect in how you dress will gain you respect in return.

  1. Clean your closet.

Too many clothes can actually limit what you have to wear. The more items you have to look at, the more frustrated you’ll become. Scale back your wardrobe; get rid of things you no longer wear. It’s better to have a few fashionable options than a closet full of things you will never wear.

  1. Use many colours when creating an outfit.

You do not want every piece to match perfectly, that is not the point of fashion. Instead find ways to create creative colour schemes. For example, a purple dress can be matched with yellow, silver, black or green accessories. Just have fun with it.

  1. If you want to look better in any combination of your wardrobe, exercise often.

A physique that stands tall with confidence makes any outfit look better. You do not have to have chiseled abs. Even a regular walking regimen of light intervals can make your spine stand up enough to make a difference.

The thing about fashion is that it’s a very easy topic once you get to know a little bit about it. Use the ideas that seem useful, and forget the others. You don’t need to go with every trend. This is really the desired action because you should have your own personal and unique style.

Being Best Friends Forever

Friendship goals! Yes, keeping your best of friends within you in a forever kind of state of mind sounds easy because after all you’ve known your friend since childhood or grade school or in college. But, nevertheless, there are some ups and downs that you may encounter that can affect your friendship — maybe a tragedy, conflict of interest, love triangles or others.

So how to keep the friendship as strong as the trees that keeps their roots on the ground? Or to maintain these friendships in this modern-day, crazy busy world we live in? We all know Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media channels that keep the “real” conversation in jeopardy. I’m not hating technology but the truth is, I despise them most of the times. Haha! Peace!

What’s the secret to staying in crazy, platonic love? Actually, it’s no secret but then to keep the momentum going on this topic, we’ll call it as that. 🙂

Here’s my list:

  1. Don’t stop laughing.

Until your stomach aches! Haha! What makes a friendship strong? Unconditional love, support and endless laughter. No matter how cheesy or corny it is, just laugh at it.

  1. Be a Superwoman.

I’m not saying dress like one. Just act like one. Friends encounters a lot of crisis — personal, family, relationships — and what you have to do is be there. Be that superwoman that a friend can rely on. There’s no crisis you can’t get through, no sadness you won’t survive, and no wound you can’t heal when your best friend is there to carry the weight of your pain.

  1. Love and support each other all ways and always.

Be a friend that someone can count on — for good times and bad. Not someone to be just there when happiness is overflowing. Be a confidante, partner-in-crime, shoulder to cry on, keeper of inside jokes, supporter, believer, human diary, the list goes on and on.

  1. Don’t keep secrets.

This means, being an open book. No one will understand you unless they know even your darkest secrets. No one can help if the problem is unknown in the first place, right?

For me, there’s nothing I could ever say or do that would make him think any less of me, and vice-versa. That’s friendship should be.

  1. Give and take.

Allow for give and take on both sides. It’s connotes fairness to both of you. Not all times that your friend can be there because of some circumstances, you have to understand. Be aware of the different life circumstances but support one another because that’s what friends do.

  1. Implement a no-judgment friendship policy.

Be that person who is straightforward, honest, and non-judgmental. We all have dark parts in our lives that we tend to forget or move on. Don’t judge! A true friend lends a hand not push them on the pits.

  1. Be brutally honest.

Real friendship requires you cut the drama, be brutally (but compassionately) honest, and love without limits.

How about you? What values can you add in the list?

First DATES! <3

That erratic heart beats, though! Haha. 🙂

Yes, I’m talking about first dates. We all have that. Those embarrassing, shy, silent, brilliant first dates. I can’t remember exactly about my first date with this guy but as far as I can remember, it went just fine, not great, but fine.

How about your first day? Nervous? That’s normal. This is the “usual” (quote) first stage in getting to know each other. But no sweat, this do not require a lot of commitment. If it went well, goo, then have a second date. Didn’t go well? Well, that’s okay, you can find other datable guys. The thing about dating is that, have FUN.

But of course, we want to bring in our best foot forward. First impression last like they say.

What you should do? Here are my suggestions:

  1. Don’t suggest a movie.

For me, movies are meant and best saved for later on down the road. You know, when words aren’t needed any more because you’ve already gotten to know whoever it is you’re watching that movie with.

  1. Coffee is great start when meeting someone on a first date.

More than 30 minutes is beyond the limit. Never commit to any activity that will take longer than 30 minutes. This will save you  especially when your first date is a jerk you don’t want to spend time with. If coffee goes well and you guys hit it off, it is easy to get a guy to commit to a dinner and/or drinks.

  1. Consume the food.

If you are in a meal-consumption situation, please consume the food like you are enjoying it. Don’t consume too little because you don’t want to be noticed as “eating too much”. It’s polite to consume it.

  1. Honesty is always the best policy.

Right? Be straightforward and don’t put up a front. Why would you? This is the time to let your potential long-term-boyfriend know that you are human too and you have your quirks. Have bad habits? Let him know. Use the light, funny atmosphere to warm him up to the worst side of you.

  1. Don’t kill the chase too early.

If you do want that long-term situation, the worst thing you can do is give in to a guy’s advances too fast. Yes, it is a normal part of a relationship, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t work for it. Unlike other myths, this one is true.

It’s also a good indication that if the guy is really (like really, really) sincere, he’ll chase after you because you’re worth all the efforts. 🙂

  1. Have fun and show that you’re having a good time.

Chemistry is not always the case on every first dates but if it does, enjoy and have fun. You don’t have to be hypocrite about it. See tip #4 —  be honest.

There are other tips out there that can help you out but these ones are based from my experience that, I believe, are practical for every girls.

Looking Your Best Through Greater Fashion Sense

It’s a wonderful feeling to look good (totally!).

If you are in a fashion slump like me and need a little help, it’s hard to know where to get the right information. What is flashy and what is classic? The point is about picking the pieces that flatter you no matter what the season is.

Looking great does not have to cost a fortune. If you want to build your wardrobe but don’t have the funds to get the look you’re after, check out your local thrift and consignment stores. These stores offer a plethora of fashion options at a fraction of their retail price.

Only buy clothes that are flattering to your figure. Do not think that you must have every fashion trend that is available, even if it does not look good on you. No matter how trendy an item is, if it is not flattering to your figure, don’t consider buying it.

Look inside fashion magazines to get an idea of what you should be wearing for this season. You don’t have to get clothes that directly match what the latest fashion is. However, you can form a style that is very similar so people may know you are up to date with the latest fashion.

Pack mostly neutral colours of garments when you travel so you will be able to mix and match them. Using only a few garments, you can create outfits that will never look tacky. Use scarves and belts to accessorise for a more pulled-together look.

One great fashion tip to try out is throwing on a scarf. This is a great tip because the scarf can almost be considered the ultimate add-on due to the amount of colour combinations as well as how easy it is to put one on. They are also extremely portable.

When purchasing jeans, go for timeless looks. For example, classic straight leg or boot cut jeans never go out of style. Opt for either of these styles in either a dark denim or slightly faded to remain in style throughout the years. By opting for these styles, you will always be in style no matter the current fashion.

Use many colours when creating an outfit. You do not want every piece to match perfectly, that is not the point of fashion. Instead find ways to create creative colour schemes. For example, a purple dress can be matched with yellow, silver, black or green accessories. Just have fun with it.

Did you know that drinking more filtered water can actually help you to prevent dry, cracked nails and cuticles? Dry hands are typically caused by dehydration. This is more prevalent during winter. Moisturise your hands on a daily basis with a little olive oil, shea butter or conditioning cream. You might want to use gloves after you apply the butter to ensure that it does not rub off.

Many people do not understand how to wear a jacket properly, and it makes them look silly. If you are going to sport a jacket, you need to wear it appropriately to look good. You must always remember that the bottom button on the jacket is not meant to be buttoned. This will keep you from committing a fashion mix up.

Avoid gaping button-down shirts with a bit of velcro or tape. For a permanent fix, sew small strips of hook-and-loop between the buttons across the bust of the shirt. If you aren’t handy with a needle and thread, you can also use small pieces of double-sided tape. Be sure to remove it before washing the shirt, though.

If you are looking for a way to look better, hope my insights of being a fashion forward gal inspires you on improving your style. Get out of that fashion slump and start choosing looks based on your inner diva. You will find you look better than ever before and feel better too.
