Yep, it’s official - I’m back in the world o’ pink - woop, woop!
It’s Monday, and that can mean only one thing… it’s time to get Bodaciously Beauty*licious!
I’m happy.
Why?
If you’ve read Think Pink, you’ll know that both Lola and I are compliment-collecting crazy - we keep them safe for days when we feel glum, then we get them back out and splash around in their general loviness.
Now, I’ve been compliment-collecting crazy this weekend. A cute boy from Liverpool told me my hair-clip - pink, natch - was ‘boss’, a girl called Claire came up to me in the train station to tell me I was funky - thanks Claire! and another girl told me how pretty my lip gloss was when I was re-applying it in the loo…compliment collecting is simply dee-lish. Fact.
The gorgeous Miss Danielle at White Hot Truth is wanting to start a Compliment Revolution and I am deffo on board, because as much as I love recieiving a compliment I love, love, love to hand them out too - here’s Danielle’s guide to giving the most perfect-o compliment…
HOW TO GIVE A COMPLIMENT
1. Fake compliments are very bad juju. The good news is that you shouldn’t have to look too hard to find reasons to compliment the people around you.
2. Compliments on how great someone looks are an easy way to spread the love…
I was standing in line at The Gap and there was a 30-something woman ahead of me - cute as a button, she was. Pixie hair cut + red nails. She was wearing a hounds tooth knit poncho, skinny jeans, paten leather ankle boots and an over-sized men’s watch. She had it goin’ on. I waited until she was snapping her wallet shut and leaned forward and said, “You look great,” and gave her that chick-to-chick “well done” nod. “Oh really? she said. “I don’t feel great.” And then her eyes filled with tears. “Gee, that was so nice to hear, thanks.” And I just nodded, a bit taken aback myself, my own eyes a bit misty. I hoped she walked a bit taller all the way home.
3. Sometimes, it’s best to compliment someone as a “drive by” or last minute gesture. Use your best intuition for the vibe. I once walked up to a woman in a food court and said, “You look fabulous.” She just about choked on her salad roll, but she did smile from ear to ear and I saw her grinning and nodding to herself as I walked away.
4. Compliments for good customer service are a joy to give, especially when you go out of your way to give them.
5. Keep it simple. Send love through your eyes and voice. Imagine things blooming from your lil’ gesture of goodness.
Easy right? So start the compliment giving today…If you see someone who is rocking a look you like, tell them, if someone says something that makes you smile, tell them - don’t be afraid to share the love, there’s plenty to go around, chicas!
So, let me start…“Why, Pink Ladies, you look simply divine today!”
I want to know what compliments you give and compliments you receive over the next week - keep me posted, sweet things!
Love and pink glitter sparkles….

I agree with Hannah!
You have made so many tween/teen girls’ lives so much more positive, happier, and completely pink-filled.
And I love all the cute words you made up! & the adorbz (example) sign offs.
My friend told me my hair was looking really good today
I said that her nails were amazing. they really were SO cool - hot pink with black tiger-stripes. How she gets them like that, I will never know.
Time for a manicure party, me thinks?

I love giving compliments! but i dunno, people (as in people who i am with) dont like it when i do. i dont get that.
but i dont get how its not polite! what do you guys think? Lana x
like we were at this restaurent the other day (i was with my family) and there was this group of AMAZING looking old women, and one of them had silver/white hair with streaks of pink through it, and bright pink lipstick (not barbie old lady pink, like awesome shiny pink) and she was wearing a fabulous bright red dress, and she was with her mates and she was like a star and was shining!!!! so i tryed to go up to her and tell her that i loved her hair and she was looking fab! but my family said it wasnt polite and i should just stay were i am. but that didnt stop me and at the end of the night i went up to her and said she looked amazing and she said “Thanks poppet” and had a hugmones smile

I came in to class one day and sat next to my best friend. Her hair was totally amazing so I said “Your hair looks really nice today what did you do to it?” and she said “Nothing” I smiled and said “Well maybe it just looks naturally nice!” and she smiled from ear to ear!
