Pink Ladies, just like you, I know that I rock, and when I look in the mirror, I like what I see - I have sparkly-eyes, a cute smile and a fabulous ability to accessorise, but for a while now, despite having written Beauty*licious, I forgot to show myself, and my body, the love it deserves.
I’ve been using it as a trash can putting way too much bad food in it and not enough good food, I’ve not pampered or looked after myself nearly enough, and haven’t been doing pilates and walking, which I love, as often as I should…
It wasn’t ’til a recent visit to the doctors, that I had my Beauty*Licious wake up call. He told me that because I’d gained an extra four and a half stone over the last year and a half, I was putting my health at risk. It’s not like I hadn’t noticed that I’d put on weight, but it wasn’t ’til I heard it from the doc, that I realised that I was doing myself serious harm and more importantly, that I’d forgotten to be my true Beauty*licious self…
So, right now, from today, I’m going to become the truly Beauty*licious goddess-girl that I know I am - wanna join me? All you have to do is read or re-read Beauty*licious - because we all need a Beauty*licious booster, and then follow me in my monday Bodaciously Beauty*licious sessions, here at Pink-world.
I’m not going on a crazy diet or anything silly like that, if you’ve read Beauty*licious you’ll know that the word ‘diet’ is banished from every Pink Lady’s vocab, but I will be changing my ‘tude to food, eating myself gorgeous and showing myself, and my body, some serious love!
Every Monday, I’ll post my personal progress report here, along with a Bodaciously Beauty*licious booster task and some Beauty*licious hints and tips on how to create your own kick-ass beauty*licious blueprint - sound cool?
All you need for today, is your sweet self and a mirror.
The Bodaciously Beauty*licious booster task:
If you’re a put-down Polly and say things like ‘I’m so fat/ugly/skinny’ or ‘I hate the way I look’, it’s not your body that’s the issue it’s your ‘tude. We spend so much time trashing bad-body-bits that we forget to love up our assets and as Lola will tell you, that’s wrong, wrong, wrong.
Negative self-talk is toxic, so why waste time bad-mouthin’ your bod, when diggin’ on you is so much more do-able?
Take a look at yourself, and whether you’re tall, short, have a chubby tummy or skinny legs, say ‘I love you’ to your reflection. Say it at least five times no matter how silly you think you sound - because when you start doing this, every day, you’ll realise that dissin’ your thighs or hating your tummy is a huge waste of time and energy, and that, loving yourself up, just the way you are, is a totally Beauty*licious thing to do.
It’s not until you start loving yourself up, that you can start being really good to yourself - like putting good food in your bod and treating yourself like the princess you are, and when you’re good to yourself, other’s will notice and they’ll be good to you too - it’s a big circle of nice-stuff goodness!
To kick off the Bodaciously Beauty*licious sessions, I’ve got five signed copies of Beauty*licious to give away - all you have to do is share any hints or tips about how you love yourself and look after yourself in a Beauty*licious way in the comments below before next Monday 26th - I’ll announce the winners next Monday in the Bodaciously Beauty*licious post ‘k?
Pink Ladies, if you’ve forgotten to show yourself and your body the love it deserves, come back every Monday and we can become Bodaciously Beauty*licious together - woop, woop!

Hey Lisa!
As you know, I embarked on a crazy diet in April and managed to lose four and a half stone by August. It was hella hard but I did it and I was so proud. Then I moved to university and what with all the drinking and take-aways I have no found myself around 2 stone heavier. For the first time in my life I am looking back at pictures of myself from just a couple of months ago and seeing how amazing I looked. It made me very sad. I wrote on my blog the other day about how I felt and even posted before and after pictures from when I weighed 20 stone!
I have also decided to stop abusing my body and these are some of my favourite things to do right now… hope they help some people.
From September I will be studying Traditional Chinese Medicine which is mainly focussed on acupuncture and herbs. Because I adore Chinese and Japanese culture I use this in regards to my own health, I drink ALOT of green tea. It’s the best! Only the good stuff though, try and get proper green tea leaves, not the tea bags from the super market - I promise you will enjoy it much more. It encourages weight loss without you even realising. I also take part in Tai Chi, an ancient form of Martial Arts (in Mandarin Chinese Tai Chi actually translates to Supreme Ultimate Fist - sounds pretty cool) that the Chinese use to relax themselves and expel any illness and negativity from their bodies. I also eat alot of fish, nuts and seeds - if I don’t get my Omega 3 fix I become very unhappy indeed!
One of the biggies for me is to try and keep a food diary and just take a look at how much we eat in one day. Sometimes we don’t realise just how much we are eating - we forget about those few cookies at lunchtime and the fact that you have been nibbling away at the cheese as you have been cooking.
From my past experience I have come to understand that the best way to lose weight, keep it off and stay healthy is to be sensible. Magazines and books have told me this for years but we just don’t listen until we do it ourselves. Good healthy food tastes soooooo much nicer than the grease slimed kebabs or burgers we consider a treat!
Theres so much more I could talk about. I love talking about health, but I think I have already rambled a little too much.
Look after yourself. You only get one body and one life and it’s gorgeous!
Much Love!

What a great way to kick off the new year!
I’ve struggled with an eating disorder in the past, and am still dealing with the repercussions of it. Patty Digh wrote this great blog post about food and life, which you can read here:

It’s the best advice I’ve heard on the subject

Back in the days of primary school; people used to make fun of me becuase I was VERY tall and had really full lips. I used to brush it off but when I thought about it, I always asked myself ‘Why do I have to be so tall?’ or ‘Why couldn’t my lips be smaller?’ So I was always jealous of the other ‘prettier’ girls. I also wanted to lose some weight- because I weighed more than most people. But then I discovered Pink World; the lovely land of Miss LC and all her advice on loving yourslef and being Beauty*Licious. At first, I thought it’d easier said than done and never really bothered looking at it. But I continued to read different mags, and they said the same thing. So I took a look at the site again. That’s when I changed. I began to love myself (yes, lips and all). I also started to take care of what I was eating (not starving) just making better food options. I’m still not sure whether I’m losing any weight, but that doesn’t matter anymore because even if I’m 13, I am taller than everyone else so that means I’ll also weigh more. I’m doing more exercise now. And about my full lips; I can always be a model for lipstick/gloss!
Tips for a better YOU:
-Love you and what you are, no matter what. Tell yourself that everyday.
-Read some self-help articlesabout healthy eating and exercise. There’s always someone who’s willing to help you. Just ask.
-Think about your talents; if you think that girl has it all, probably you can do some things she can’t.
-Have a more positive attitude to eating. NEVER SKIP MEALS; make fun ways of eating.
-Pamper yourself; whether it’s just having a facial, going shopping or even watching a DVD with your mum/friends.
-EXERCISE; find more fun ways of doing this. Dance around your room, go for a walk/jog, swim at your local gym, stay inside and jump around to a dance workout, or even hula-hoop.
-Find soemthing that you enjoy and stick to it; you’ll always find something! Doing something you love will change your attitude and probably make you more happier.

And of course Hannah… Miss Jolie is hugely famous for her full lips!
Everyone loves them. High School kids don’t get it, but when your older everyone will adore them!
Take it easy.

this is awesome! i haven’t read beauty*licious yet because no bookshops in WA have even heard of it, which is crazy. loving your body is really important, because if you can’t see how great it is other people won’t either. the best things you can do are to try and eat healthy and exersise, i gonna get my exersise today by trying to do cartwheels and handstands, this is something i find impossible, but love to do and makes me sweaty and crazy laugh out loud happy. one thing i always try to do for my body is drink lots of water because it washes all the bad stuff out and means i don’t get dehydrated.
i know what you mean hannah i weigh more than my friend to, but she hasn’t got hips and is still compleatlly flat and i know i’m a healthy weight so it doesn’t matter.

Hey Lisa!
I absolutely love this essential beauty bible. Before reading this, I looked in the mirror and never liked what I saw. Style was dictated by the popular crowd at my school and no matter how much I tried to be like them it never worked and I usually ended up looking like an idiot. It was constantly niggling at the back at my brain that boys didn’t like me for being me and that made me upset. My friends kept encouraging me that I was way too fabulous to be in that clique and even though I tried to make it, it didn’t work. Untill I finally found the spotlight at the end of the tunnel and new what I saw in the mirror was totally unique because I was nothing like the cool crowd. And that was a good thing! It would be SO boring if everyone was the same so that’s why I had never felt happier when I stepped out in my bright purple tights and ra-ra skirts because I made a statement that I didn’t want to be like them. When you make a statement, it can be a bit scary because you think everyone is whispering nasty things about what you’re doing. So, here are my top tips for being totally Beauty*Licious. Definition: Being YOU!!
-Walk tall and proud. It’ll create a powerfull and girly-gorgeous image around you that you know you rock!
- Wash regularly. You’ll never feel like a goddess if you don’t smell like one too. (Especially when you have P.E).
-Find your hidden talents. Whether it’s flying a kite or making Macorini Cheese, find something and regularly do something you’re good at. If you don’t struggle with it and get frustrated you’ll enjoy it alot more. Afterwards praise yourself for doing such an AMAZING job!
-Excercise regularly. I know you probably think that you’ll feel much better when you’re snuggled underneath your duvet but getting oxygen and blood pumping through your veins is a total body and mood beneifiter. It will also probably mean you’ll get boosted up to captain of the sports team. After all, you’re a queen. Take control girl.
-Eat and drink loads of water. To make sure you are healthy and don’t get dehydrated, eat and drink every single day. This dosn’t mean a can of coke and a whole pizza and chips, it means healthy food and fresh juice or water. You can have a treat now and again for when you are doing well and to keep your energy up.
-Pamper girl! When you’re bored and have nothing to do how about taking up the whole bathroom and pampering yourself from head to toe. You can also call up some friends and organise a total pamper paradise with bubbles, face packs and a whole lotta laughs to pamper your soul.
-Last but not least, get alot of early nights. Trusto mundo, you’ll feel refreshed and will be ready to face the day with a positive attitude.
Always remember to love yourself no matter who you are and don’t let any cliquey-types put you down because girl, you’re Beauty*licious!

Hey pink ladies!
My favorite thing to do every day is something that makes me sparkle on the inside, and it doesn’t cost a thing. Every day before I go to sleep I think back about all the POSITIVE things that happened that day. I count my lucky stars for everything I was blessed with from the minute I woke up. Some days all I can manage is that I’m grateful to be in bed at the end of it, but even that is something! You’ll be so amazed after a week or two at all the wonderful and weird things life has blessed you with, that you’ll sparkle and glow, 24/7!
My best ever tip for some self lurrve is to be a habit rabbit. You totally know what you need to look after yourself; we ALL do! Fresh fruit and veg, lean protein galore, staying hydrated and regular exercise, blah blah blah. We hear about it on tv, in the news, and in P.E class. But you know what? It’s a daily thing, not an occasional swing. You gotta make it a habit, rabbit! Then you won’t think twice about hopping out of bed and straight into your walking shoes, or telling yourself you’re gorgeous every single morning (you totally are!), it’ll just be what you do! Habit rabbits are hunny bunnies!
