Loving Yourself Up is mucho important for boostin’ your bravado, this is factuality.

Knowing you have a voice and being confident enough to use it, well that’s just totally kick-ass and awesome.

That’s why, as part of lovin’ myself up this week, I’ve pledged my support to the Because I Am A Girl campaign, because when you Love Yourself Up, it’s important to share the love too.

Last year, with the help of you fabulous-o Pink Ladies, I raised over £1,300 for The Children’s Society - this year, Pink-World’s offish charity is Because I Am A Girl. I am so unbelievably passionate about this campaign, I really don’t want to get all preachy on your bee-hinds, but this stuff matters.

Girls rock and when Girlkind work together, well…we’re a total tour de force capable of making this world a much, much better place - how fur-reakin’ awesome is that?

Why should you join the Because I Am A Girl campaign?

  • Girls need your help! By pledging your support, you are joining with others around the world to show that you care about girls’ rights.
  • Signing the pledge allows Because I Am A Girl to put more pressure on governments to take action: a few minutes of your time can make a huge difference in the lives of girls.
  • If you want to become even more involved, they will send you information on further action that you can take.

These are some of the things you can do to help make a difference to the lives of girls throughout the world:

  • Sponsor A Girl: Plan has worked with young girls for 70 years and believes all children should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. By sponsoring a girl through Plan you can help make it possible for her to get the safe water, food, health care and education she deserves.
  • Add your voice to the ‘Because I am a Girl’ campaign now. This is a simple way to stand up for girls’ rights. It’s your chance to help girls around the world have a say and to tell governments to take action. You can sign up online or text GIRLS to 84118
  • Take the Five Friends challenge: send one of our great e-cards to five friends to get them to sign up too We want as many people as possible to support ‘Because I am a Girl’.
  • Send an email to Prime Minister Gordon Brown: ask him to commit money to education for girls living in the shadow of war.
  • Gift for a Girl: send a friend one of Plan’s alternative gifts and they’ll not only receive a very special present, but you’ll also be helping girls and their families in some of the world’s poorest countries.
