Flumps.jpgDo you remember flumps? Those yummy marshmallow sweet treats that you used to have as a kid?

Well, the fabulous Anita, creator of www.atomicflump.co.uk has made them into super-cute adornments so we can get a sweet fix without the sugar high - cool, huh?

She also has a whole lot of other items o’ adorability that I’ve kinda fallen a little bit in love with too.

So what is Atomic Flump exactly?
Atomicflump is a site for those of us girls who want to stand out and express our individuality. I stock loads of handmade quirky and original Jewellery. You can also find one off items that you can guarantee no one else will have.

When did you set it up and why?

I started selling my Jewellery on Ebay this year in February and have recently branched out onto my own website because its going so well. I’ve had super positive feedback and custom orders which has motivated me even more. I’ve always been really creative but have never taken full advantage of it before. I’ve just found something I absolutely love doing and as long as there are other people out there who love it too, I’m going to carry on! (Also, it helps I’m super ambitious)

How do you decide what prods to sell?

Mainly I sell what I like and what I would wear. I always have loads of design ideas floating around in my head and I sell what I think is popular or looks fabulous.

Do you create prods yourself too? If so, tell us all about them - how do you create them, what’s you inspiro?

A lot of my items are handmade out of fimo polymer clay. Some of my best selling items are cute animal earrings and phone charms which I have designed and moulded from fimo. It is easy to use and you can create anything with it. It does take patience and an eye for detail but anyone can have a go at creating with it. The items that I make have been inspired from retro tv characters, sweets and confectionary and animals. I always try to make the animal items cute and different. I especially love my tortoise earrings that are stuck on their backs!

What 5 tracks would be on an atomic Pink soundtrack?

Relax by Mika
Freestyler by Bomfunk MCs
Black & Gold by Sam Sparro
Popcorno Revenge by Messer Chups
The Winner Is by Mychael Danna

What’s your best selling prod right now?
I have a few top selling items at the moment. My customers love the Berk earrings which have been inspired by the character from ‘TrapDoor’ also the sheep earrings and the black sheep phone charm. I always get fantastic feedback from people about the quality and detail. Also, customers are loving the Angel Wing necklaces and flump earrings.

How has setting up an online shop been for you - can you give us an insight please?
I have to say its been a bit stressful. This is probably because I’m a perfectionist and I want everything to look pretty and attractive. I was quite fussy over my design of the website, especially the logo. I am extremely happy with it now and i just hope that everyone else finds it easy to use.

What’s a typical day in the life of Anita Atomic Flump?

Well, there is never a typical day! My day is always different which is the joy of being in control. I can sit and create with music on or the TV on and it is fabulous. I love it! However, it has been a lot of hard work. I have only been selling for about 4 months and its been literally 24/7 which takes dedication and a lot of self motivation. Fortunately I have a brilliant supportive boyfriend who is always willing to help.
