I love meeting kick-ass ladies o’ fabulousness, this is fact, which is why I was super-excited to hook up with the sweet-as-sugar, Miss Corrine.
She’s a writer-girl, with a love of all things style, beauty, inspiration, and FUN!
Our kinda girl, right?
Filled with positive, how-to advice and tips and tricks to live life to the fullest, Miss Corrine has a super-fun space of internet cuteness that encourages you to make the most of every day - come meet her, she’s adorbz.
Describe writer-girl Miss Corrine in 5 words…
Passionate, creative and style-obsessed!
So, who is Miss Corrine - care to share?
I’m a Sydney-based writer, originally from Wellington, in New Zealand! I’m also a Virgo, am obsessed with all things sparkly, glittery and sequin-y, and have a tragic, tragic love for 70’s music!
Miss Corrine - the website, we LOVE. For those who haven’t dropped by just yet, what’s it all about, chica?
‘Miss Corrine’ is a blog all about style, inspiration, beauty and FUN! I started it only very recently (last month, in fact!), so it’s still only a baby, however my baby is growing fast! I started it because I wanted to create an atmosphere that was supportive, encouraging and inspiring - I wanted to create something that would really enhance people’s lives, and encourage them to live their dreams and to celebrate every day. ‘Miss Corrine’ aims to give readers positive, how-to advice, teach them fabulous tips and tricks (to make them look, feel and be even MORE amazing!), and to make the most of each and every day.
Where do you get your inspir-o from?
Anything and everything! Honestly, I love what I do, so I find it quite easy to be inspired, but receiving such lovely feedback from the people who read ‘Miss Corrine’ each day is enormously motivating!
Is the site a full-time job or do you do other stuff too?
While I do treat ‘Miss Corrine’ as a full-time job, (I’m constantly working on it every morning, noon and night!) I also manage an office for an Australian magazine, which is fantastic! I started working there at the end of last year, to get my foot in the door of the magazine industry, and I love it. It feels like a dream come true that I get to work in the magazine industry, yet I also get the opportunity to write the ‘Miss Corrine’ blog for such magnificent, amazing readers, too!
What 5 tracks would be total must-haves to a Miss Corrine soundtrack to life?
Ooh, that’s a hard one! It would definitely feature some crazy disco and rock songs though, that’s for sure! A few likely contenders would be:
x ‘The Hustle’, by Van McCoy
x ‘The Sweet Escape’, by Gwen Stefani
x ‘Disco Inferno’, by The Trammps
x ‘Number of The Beast’, by Iron Maiden (I know - the lyrics/etc. have absolutely nothing to do with my life, whatsoever, but I just love the song!)
x Something by Queen, for sure!
We love girls with kick-ass ‘tude - what’s your secret to being a positive pink thinker?
As corny and silly as it may sound, I always try to look on the bright side of things, and try to live by the saying of ‘’what you think about, you bring about'’ - or, as my lovely little ‘TUT’ (Daily Notes From The Universe) message likes to remind me each day, ‘’thoughts become things - choose the good ones!'’
Who are your style icons?
Okay, so I know she is a fictional character, but Carrie Bradshaw! (Or perhaps I should say Sex & The City’s stylist, Patricia Field!) I think she is absolutely marvellous, because she has fun with what she wears, and is completely fearless with her look!
We love to visit new places - can you introduce us to your city? what would be your perfect way to spend a day there? what would you do? Where would you go?
Sure! Well, my day would definitely consist of a shopping stint in Paddington, followed by visiting the delightful vintage stores in Surry Hills! Then we would probably catch the Manly Ferry from Circular Quay (to bask in the excellent views!), and visit Manly beach, followed by drinks in the city during the night!
Tell us who inspires you/who you admire and why?
Anyone and everyone, as long as they are kind, passionate and believe in chasing their dreams!
What do you wish you could have known as a teen girl in the world?
Oh, a number of things! Perhaps most importantly though that everything does happen for a reason - I think the world can be a confusing place sometimes, particulary for a teen girl, so I think it’s really important to remember to trust yourself, and trust that everything does happen for a reason!
What’s your life motto?
I believe that life is all about creating your own reality - be the sort of person that you admire and want to be! Do what you want to do! Laugh, smile, achieve your dreams, and most importantly, have lots and lots of fun doing it!
Quick fire round: What’s your favourite…
Shop: All of them. I love shops. I am crazily, hopelessly and foolishly addicted to shopping - I even like grocery shopping!
Book: I love Mia Freedman’s The New Black.
Website/blog: Ebay - it’s the perfect website for a shopaholic like me!
Hang-out: Anywhere - I can have fun sitting in a gutter as long as I’m surrounded by excellent people!
City: Ooh, I’ve never been, but I’ll say somewhere in Italy! (I have always wanted to go, and I’m going there at the end of this year - yay!)
TV prog: Sex & The City.
Food: Pizza, closely followed by cupcakes. Perhaps I should invent a cupcake pizza?
The colour pink, discuss.
Pink is fun, fearless and the colour for all things fabulousness! It is my favourite colour and it is superb.
Go visit Miss Corrine at www.misscorrine.com - she’s the most perfect host, so be sure to leave her some comments o’ loveliness!
