Girl Power should be about knowing you don’t need a boyfriend to be happy. Really, what’s SO great about boys? As Grease’s Frenchie says, the only man a girl can depend on is a Daddy!
Being a girl doesn’t mean being obbsessed with make up and clothes, and what their hair looks like. Girl Power is being able to see beyond that. Girls like Rosa Parks, Marie Curie and Jacqueline Wilson are perfect examples of Girl Power.

You don’t have a to have a pretty face and rail-thin to be beautiful. Come on girls, SHINE ON!

Girl power = women uniting and being proud of who they are and their gender! Women who know what they want and believe they can get it and make it their mission to get it with style!

My ‘Girl Power’ role model would be:

My future mum in law! - Amazing woman, jugged kids and a career and is still working her way up the ladder. Even though she has been a lot she is so strong. I personally have had a lot of problems the last few years and she has really helped me and is such a great listener. Plus she can get up and look immaculate in less than 30 minutes!

girl power to me is the power you have with your girl friends , frienship is also girl power its all about faithfullness and being honest to your mates , and being there for them no matter what life throws at them or you

Girl Power means being responsible for your own decisions in life, and not being answerable to anyone else - especially to men!

To me, girl power is about confidence in your own inner beauty and living life with dignity no matter what is thrown at you. I think back to how much women had to fight for the most basic rights of equality (and still do!) and realise that its a gift to be cherished and developed, not exploited or dismissed.

And I couldn’t agree more about Hope, I’ve reached the point where I can’t watch Hope and fast forward or mute as the way the girls are being marketed is frankly degrading. I’m all for women acknowledging their sexuality but most women can do it without all the scanty outfits and grinding… it makes me cringe to see them allowing themselves to be sold short each week…

I adore Leon but then he’s from my home town so I kinda would have to any way… I also like Rhydian as though he hams it up in his performance, he seems very genuine and humble when the music stops… I also love Same Difference as they are so fun and sweet… and Beverley is such a good role model… Crikey, I love them all!!!!

I am lovin Leon,Hope and Aleisha she is so cool i love her ( she’s got GIRL POWER i would say ) but i really hate RHYDIAN …… he’s like Marmite you lov him or hate him i suppose but i must admit he is talented but he is too confident !!!

I am totez lovin Rhydian, even though I hated him at first! I got angry when all the judges were going on saying Hope were real girl power!! Simon found a formula (sex sells) and stuck to it, plus they totally cheapened one of my fave madonna songs! Beverly is way more girl/WOMAN power than Hope!
