Can back-to-school ever be cool?
YES!
Especially if you follow our ultimate back-to-cool guide put together by the very, very fabulous Pink Lady, Katie Henley-Smith…
Let’s face it, we all loved our summer hols and the idea of going back to another year of school sounds like boredom on a stick.
Not if you think of a new school year as chance to unveil a new you. Make an extra special effort in all of your classes, get good grades and end the year in being proud of what you’ve achieved! After all, it will all pay off in the end!
Sort some stationery. It sounds boring, but combine the boring rulers and calculators [which come in a variety of cool colours to jazz up your maths lessons!] with some ultra cute pens and folders & youll be looking forward to being the snazziest girl in school! Plus, by sorting it all out now, you’ll catch the sales and won’t end up rushing around panicking like everyone else! And for a little something to impress all your friends, be a true Pink Lady and check out the new PINK Pritt-Sticks, especially for girls!
WIN! WIN! WIN! We’ve teamed up with the super fab Uniball, to offer up 60 pens to make note-taking in class just that li’l bit cooler! To get your pen, tell us what your fave lesson is and why in the comment box below before monday 10th September - good luck!
Get a Can-do attitude! So maybe towards the end of the year [or even a week into the new one!], you start slacking on your school work, leave homework to the last minute and can barely read your own writing, but this year by trying your hardest and boosting your grades, not only will you feel better and proud of yourself, you’ll be thanking yourself for it later on in life! And by telling your parents how much you’ve improved, they might just be encouraged to give you a special treat!
Get creative! When you’re given a school project, it’s tempting to do what everyone else does, the thing that involves the least amount of effort. But to be noticed by the teacher and get the highest mark you can, you need to get creative and come up with something no one else will think of! Whether it’s a topic no one else wants to do, or just by decorating it to grab attention [and let’s face it, decorating is the fun part!], don’t be afraid to stand out and devote some time to getting it just right! Not only will your teacher be impressed, but a good word may be put it and you could receive special credit for it!
Grab a new look! New school year, new you - so definitely a new look! A new hairstyle, new make-up - it can anything you like but make sure it’s something you’ve never tried before! It can be something as small as a new colour eyeshadow, or as big as a whole new styled wardrobe! Bring attention to the new you and be sure to accept all those compliments!
Make new friends! Don’t go ditching you old friends, but whats the harm in increasing your popularity and letting even more people know what a fab person you are?! Be open to welcoming new friends into your group, maybe someone you wouldn’t normally spend time with! If you have no choice but to sit next to someone you don’t know in class, make an effort to get to know them. That way the lesson becomes more fun and you don’t have to spend the entire year in akwardness! Maybe they can attract you to a new hobby or inspire you to do something you never dreamed of doing before!
Now work on the confident new you and show everyone what an amazing girl you are!

My favourite lesson is English Literature. I love it because I have a real passion for reading books and uncovering the hidden meanings and messages that lie under the surface.

My favourite lesson is Art and I spend every spare moment I have doodling away or just sketching. Everyone in my class are quite impressed by my drawings and get me to doodle and draw cute cartoon characters in their school diary (although our teacher wasn’t too impressed with us messing up our diaries and got everyone to tipp-ex out all my hard work)

My favourite lesson is Music. I especially enjoy listening sessions where I can sit back, relax and enjoy the music. Like a mini spa for my ears

Before I hated maths and thought my friend and and teachers were mad when they sid that they loved maths but now its better cos the teachers let you stay behind on monday on wednesday break so they can talk you through it all step by step and don’t get mad if you get an answer wrong.I t is better but not quite as good as english and art but better than science and games!
