It’s like a treasure chest of totes adoreability with allsorts of treats to suit my every mood - check out my newest find, Ink Lady Accessories - loves it, loves it, loves it!

Describe the girl behind the label, Brandi, in 5 words…
Crafty, Stylish, Hard working, and Awesome!

Pink-world hearts you and your products. Tell us all about what you do, what’s with the name? When did you start?
I make fun accessories for girls like myself, that don’t want to go to some over priced store like Hot Topic. (Not that I have anything against Hot Topic!!) I got the name from the crew of girls I hang out with, The Ink Ladies! They’ve helped me out so much in coming up with ideas and showing off my cute stuff by wearing it around! So it’s basically for all those cute groups of girls that have a good fashion sense! I started the Myspace store in November of 2006, and thanks to all my awesome buyers it is booming!

ilbrandi.jpgWhen and how did you realise you were a creative girl able to make fabulous-o treats that people would buy?
I am a girly girl so I would make toys into necklaces and put random flowers on bobby pins because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money buying that stuff at a store when I could just make it at home. I started making fun picture collages on canvas or jewellery boxes and picture frames for my friends and family for holidays or birthdays, they liked them so much it opened the creative side of me and I just went for it and started to make hair accessories like flowers, barrettes, etc. and jewellery, along with a few misc. items that can be found at my Myspace store!

What was the first product you ever made?

It was a pair of white rose barrettes with a cute flapper girl in the middle.

Tell us about your product range, what you got to offer? What are your current favourite items? What inspires your too-cute designs?
I make affordable accessories, which means, they are cute and cheap, what more can you ask for!!?? My favourite items right are my photo albums, photos are such an important thing why not keep them in something so cute?!

Most of what you see is taken from stuff I see out of magazines, at stores, or what I see cute girls wearing of course with my personal style added to it!

ilbracelet.jpgWhat’s the secret to your success?
I keep stuff cheap! I’m not out there to get rich, I want girl’s to look cute and again not have to pay a fortune for it! Also, having your friends advertise for you doesn’t hurt!

Do you have to be all business-y too?

It’s important to be business like with your business, but you should always have fun doing it!!

What’s a typical day in the life of a designer-girl…I work a f/t job alongside running Ink Lady Accessories, so I work my butt off there, then come home at night and on the weekends and work my butt off doing this!

How do you promote your products?
Myspace is my number one promoter! But I also have friends and models helping me out by wearing the products around or in shoots to help me out! And of course word of mouth!

What’s been the best experience since setting up?
I love all the feedback I’m getting, even from people who haven’t bought anything tell how cute the stuff is! It makes my day every time I get a new comment or message!

As an official style-ista, what’s your ‘must-have’ accessory?

My earrings! All of them are one of a kind and so cute!

What’s your favourite brand and why?

Jewellery Designer and Buttonsplus! They have the cutest and most affordable supplies!

What would your soundtrack sound like?
Cyndi Lauper’s greatest hits!

Do you have a style bible – a magazine, book that you completely dig?

The girl’s guide to staring your own business, this book is so real and keeps you on the ground when your head gets too big.

What makes you jump-in-the-air-happy?
Making a new item I’m totally stoked on, then I post it on my page and get such good feed back! That’s when you know you did a good job!

What’s next in your world?

Making more and cuter products! I’m going to start on purses and bags, then hopefully move to clothing, this is just the start!!

What advice would you have for would-be design girls – any words of wisdom would be fabulous-o lovely lady!

Go for it! Even if you have only made a couple of things, post them, weather its on Myspace, Ebay or your Website, your going to get some sort of feedback from it! Its so much fun, and if it makes you happy, you need to go for it!
