The countdown to my totes favourite new movie starts here - 4 days and counting!
Hairspray, starring High School Musical star Zac Effron and fabulous-o newcomer, Nikki Blonsky hits the bigscreen this Friday and I’m so blimmin’ excited - what’s not to love about this movie?
It’s a musical, it stars cutester Zac Effron - swoon, it’s got dance moves that I know I’ll be bustin in my bedroom and it’s got a leading lady that isn’t a size zero - huzzah for that!
If you’ve not seen the trailer, girl, where have you been exactly?
Here’s the lowdown:
Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), a teenage girl with all the right moves, is obsessed with the Corny Collins Show.
Every day after school, she and her best bud Penny (Amanda Bynes) run home to watch the show and drool over the hot Link Larkin (Zac Efron - swoon), much to Tracy’s mother Edna’s (John Travolta) dismay.
After one of the stars of the show leaves, Corny Collins (Jason Marsden) holds auditions to see who will be the next person on the Corny Collins show. With all of the help of her friend Seaweed (Elijah Kelly), Tracy makes it on the show, angering the evil dance queen Amber Von Tussle (Brittany Snow) and her mother Velma (Michelle Pfieffer).
Tracy then decides that it’s not fair that the black kids can only dance on the Corny Collins Show once a month, and with the help of Seaweed, Link, Penny, Motormouth Maybelle (Queen Latifah), her father (Christopher Walken) and Edna, she’s going to integrate the show…..without denting her ‘do!
I heart the original movie, which, if you haven’t seen you totally should. It starred Rikki Lake in the lead role - she abso rocked and ruled, but I am totally jump-in-the-air happy ’bout the new and improved 2007 version - The Pink Ladies and I plan to have a popcorn eatin’ cinema Film Friday swooning over Zac, cheering on Nikki and dancing in the isles - can’t wait!

The original hairspray film is in my DVD collection, I’ve loved it since I was little, but I’m always against remakes of my favourite classics or really poor sequels i.e. GREASE 2 (criminal)
However, I think I may give it a chance as a girl can never have too much hairspray!!!

I simply cannot wait to see this film, as soon as I saw the trailer I was excited!!! I get paid next week too, so I wonder where some of that will go?? hmmmmmm

I went to see Hairspray and it was sooo good! Zac Efron is VERY cute in this film, it is THE BEST film out ever! I never saw the original Hairspray but i doubt who-ever played Link in that film could ever be as lovely as Zac Efron!
