Andi.jpgOhmystars, I’m so excited!

Think Pink has hit Australia and to celebrate, Pink Lady Andi, who is a real life Australian type with kangaroos and koalas in her back yard - actually, I don’t think that’s strictly true, but I’m trying to paint a picture of all things Oz-like ‘k? - will be bringing you her very own Think Pink Down Under diary each month!

Think Bridget Jones but set in a hot country and without all the miserable moaning ’bout well…just about everything!

Forget Kylie, Andi is by far the coolest new Oz-girl icon.

Fact.

For those loyal, long-time lovers of Pink World you might remember me, I used to write a column a while ago about what’s going down in my Aussie life.

Well… I’m back!
To give you all the latest in Australian news - who the bands are, what the trends are… and all that jazz. Also, you’ll get a sneak peak into my life…how ever interesting, or uninteresting it is in the particular month I’m writing in…

First, let me introduce… me.
About Me
If you cant already tell from the picture above, I am a massive picture poser.
I love love love taking photos. I also love editing them with Photoshop.

Next, I just about spend my life on myspace. Add me, myspace.com/andz56 and I’ll be sure to chat to you.
I love getting comments, and picture comments - they are one of the many things that brighten up my day.

I love all my friends, we always have a total blast together, and they are always there for me. In my eyes, the key to being happy is having a great circle of friends, a group of kids that you can just have fun with and be yourself around. There’s no use trying to be someone your not!

I love bright colours, especially fluro!

I love going to concerts, the atmosphere is amazing and just hearing your favourite band play right in front of you gives me the ultimate high. The same with music, if I’m having a bad day and I hear my favourite day, it immediately gives me a pick me up.

The beach is my favourite place in the world. The sounds, the smells, the tastes… that feeling when you dive under your first wave, it’s seriously amazing. I could not live without the beach. I can’t surf, but I like to pretend I can. Heading for a massive nose-dive, is scary…but hilarious to watch.

Most of all, I love and cherish life, and I believe in 2nd chances. I think we need to look after the world while we still can. Kids are the future, and if we don’t start doing something about the environment, it might not be there when we grow up. I’m fun loving, happy, kind, and one of those people who generally do care how your day was.

My Life
Okayy… so in my life.. We have 2 weeks till the Easter Holidays (we’re in autumn here); oh thank the lord someone invented holidays! These holidays I’m expecting to go up the coast to a great little place called Sanctuary Point.

It’s a practically deserted, beach front place, where all I do all day is lie in my hammock/the beach and read, swim and go water skiing (if I’m not feeling particularly unco on that day). My cousins live up there, and they live ON THE BEACH. It’s fantastic, and although I try and be sun-safe (coz that is a MUST here in Oz… seeing as there is a massive hole in the ozone right above us…) I still come back looking tanned and healthy.

When I get back, after gorging my brains (and stomach) out with choccies, ill be off to the Sydney Easter Show. The Easter Show is held for a few days, it’s hideously over-priced, but a MUST experience for anyone in Sydney over Easter. At the Easter Show, you buy show bags (some have lollies, chocolate and other food, some have magazines, and some have toys), see all the animals, go on the rides and tire yourself out. If you stay late enough, you can see the fantastic fireworks display.

The Bands
In Australia, the big bands in the charts at the moment are Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Hinder, Gwen Stefani, The Fray, Silverchair and Nelly Furtardo.

My personal faves are Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. I recently went to their concerts and they were the best. I had such a blast and they really got engaged with the audience.

On My Ipod right now is…
I Wanna Love You – Akon
Shine On – Jet
The Ghost of You – My Chemical Romance
The Take Over, The Breaks Over – Fall Out Boy
Thnks fr the Mmrs – Fall Out Boy
I Don’t Love You – My Chemical Romance
Heimsdalgate like a Promethean Curse – Of Montreal
Something About You - Jamelia

The Trends
Lots of girls are wearing ankle boots, skinny jeans, fluro colours, cardigans, slogan tops, kiddies tops (miffy, Elmo, sesame street), ballet flats, thongs (the shoe, as usual), shorts, short dresses, pinafores & overalls.

The more fashionably confident are wearing high waisted jeans and shorts & sweater dresses.

So, I hope you enjoy reading my rants and raves about life here in Australia. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
