thinkpinkcover.jpgIt’s trumpet blowin’ time!

The totes fabulous-o people at www.thebookbag.co.uk are lovin’ the book - whoop, whoop!

The Bookbag is a great review site for read-a-rama fans, and they don’t hold back. If they don’t like something, these literary dudes and dudesses will tell you. They’re also not afraid to shout about what they love and it seems they love us - yay!

If you were thinking ’bout buying the book and are in need of a nudge of encouragement to part with your pennies, read this!

twinkie.jpgI love food.
I love pretty things.
I love when people make pretty things based on food.
I love, love, love Twinkie Chan.
You should too.

Who is Twinkie Chan?

Quirky. Colorful. Snack-crazy. Self-motivated Sleep-deprived!

Miss Twinkie, we heart you! What you all about?
I’ve always been a little bit crafty. When I was younger and saw something I liked in a store, my mom would always tell me to go home and make it. When I started working in an office after college, I could never figure out what to buy for my boss, so I’d make her all kinds of crazy stuff like hand-painted picture frames decorated with her favorite breakfast cereal. She always encouraged me to exercise my creativity more, but I could never figure out what I wanted to focus on.

Creativity sometimes just comes out of necessity. I needed a scarf. I wanted it to be cute. Pretty soon I had 10 scarves but only one neck! So I decided to try selling my food-themed scarves .., and I was totally surprised that people actually wanted them. I chose the name Twinkie Chan for my brand because I wanted something fun and food-oriented, and I also re-claimed my mom’s maiden name for kicks!

FVP_pic.jpgJenny Valentine (how showbiz?!), is author of Finding Violet Park, a quirky and original voyage of self-discovery triggered by a lost urn of ashes.

Sixteen-year-old Lucas Swain becomes intrigued by the urn of ashes left in a cab office. Convinced that its occupant – Violet Park – is communicating with him, he plans to gain possession of the urn, little does he know that his quest will take him on a voyage of self-discovery and identity, forcing him to finally confront what
happened to his absent (and possibly dead) father.

Cool stuff, eh?

Betty1.jpgUgly Betty hits our screens here in the UK tonight, 9.30pm, Channel 4.
Oh, happy days.

There is nothing not to love ’bout this - I’ve had a sneaky peek on YouTube, and am crazy in crush with it already!
Basically, Ugly Betty follows the daily life of our new favourite lady Betty Suarez, she’s from a struggling Latino family and works as an assistant at super swanky MODE fashion magazine. Ala Devil Wears Prada, most of her colleagues think they’re more attractive than she is, they often humiliate and insult her because of her appearance, but the best bit? Betty don’t care.
She’s not even interested in fashion.

Her boss, the womanizing, but right outta cutesville, Daniel Meade has a serious lack of fashion experience too, but both are intent on performing well at their jobs, even though there are sneaky-types out to try and stop them…

Seriously, Ugly Betty is the stuff of dreams. Tune in tonight and we’ll do Betty chat!

Lisa Clark is a multi-taskin’ kinda girl.

Pink-world is the zine I’ve always wanted to read. ‘Cept no one ever made it, which, is really rather rude. Instead, they made a whole lot of glossy zines that tell me how to wear my hair, that size 00 is the new size 10 and that I should have serious life-envy of…well, everyone who isn’t me basically.
